Rising queries
How Serplyze finds queries that are growing for your site but are not tracked yet, and how to add or dismiss them.
Rising queries are Search Console queries that gained clicks or impressions for your site and that you do not track yet. They are a quick way to keep a keyword list in step with what people search for. The list is available on every plan.
How suggestions are found
Once a day, after the project's sync, Serplyze compares the last 14 final days with the 14 days before, for every query of the property with its landing page. The project's country filter applies.
A query is suggested when all of the following hold:
- It is not tracked, and you did not stop tracking it earlier.
- It has at least 5 clicks or at least 50 impressions in the last 14 days.
- It is new (no impressions in the 14 days before), or its clicks grew by at least 30% (with 5 or more clicks now), or its impressions grew by at least 30% (with 50 or more impressions now).
Suggestions are ranked by a score and the best 50 per project are kept:
score = clicks gained + 0.02 × impressions gainedOnly queries Search Console reports can be suggested. Rare queries that Google hides for privacy never appear, and the list is not keyword research: it has no search volume and no queries your site does not already show up for.
What each suggestion shows
The list is the Rising queries you don't track section of the rank tracker, below the ranking spread charts.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Query | The search query. |
| Clicks | Clicks in the 14 days before and in the last 14 days. The tooltip adds impressions. |
| Growth | The relative growth in clicks, or in impressions when there were no clicks to compare. |
| Position | Average position over the last 14 days. |
| Page | The landing page with the most clicks for the query. |
| Group | The suggested group, which you can change before adding. |
The suggested group is chosen in this order:
- A group whose keywords rank with the same page.
- A rule-based group whose rule matches the query.
- A group whose name matches the URL folder of the landing page.
Keywords can only be added to manual groups. When the best match is a rule-based group, the query joins it by its rule once it is tracked. With a group selected in the sidebar, the list shows only the suggestions for that group.
Add a suggestion
- Check the group in the row's Group select, or choose No group.
- Press Add in the row. For several at once, tick the rows, pick a group for the selection and press Add selected.
An added query becomes a normal tracked keyword. It is checked in Search Console right away and gets the same history as your other keywords. If the selection does not fit your keyword limit, a dialog offers to add only the queries that fit, those with the most impressions first, or to increase the limit. See Keywords.
Dismiss a suggestion
Dismiss in a row hides that query, and it is not suggested again. Dismiss all hides every suggestion in the list, or the ones left after filtering. Dismissing does not affect your data: you can still add the query from Add keywords.
Filter and export
The filter bar takes conditions on query, page, clicks, clicks before, impressions, impressions before, growth, position and suggested group. Export saves the listed suggestions as CSV or Excel, or copies them for Sheets.
Suggested keywords from your own rules
A second, optional list builds on the rising queries. Under Settings → Groups and rules, switch on Suggest new keywords automatically and define up to 10 rules.
- Each rule reads: rising queries with at least N impressions in the last 7 or 28 days, optionally only queries that match a rule-based group's rule, contain given words, or match a regular expression.
- Each rule names the manual group to add to, or Match group rules (no manual group).
- A monthly cap limits the number of suggestions (1 to 500, 50 by default).
Matches appear in the Suggested keywords panel at the top of the rank tracker, with the reason and Accept or Dismiss per row, and Accept all. A dismissed query is not suggested again for 90 days.
The only mode is Ask me first. Serplyze never starts tracking a keyword by itself, and accepting never goes over your keyword limit.
