Backlinks
Plan link building month by month, record the links that went live, link them to tracked keywords and see how those keywords moved afterwards.
Backlinks is a record of the links you buy or earn. You plan a number of links per month, enter each link when it goes live, connect it to the tracked keywords it should help, and see how those keywords moved after the link.
Backlinks are included in every paid plan and are not available on the Free plan. The screen is internal: it is not shown in the client portal.
The monthly plan
- Open the Plan vs actual tab and click + Plan a month.
- Pick the month and enter Links planned. Budget and Vendor are optional.
- Click Add to plan.
The Month by month table then shows Planned, Acquired, Pending, Budget, Spent and Vendors for every month that has a plan entry or a link. Acquired counts links with the status Live or Lost that went live in the month. Pending counts links still marked Planned. Spent adds up the cost of acquired links. Cards above the table sum the last 12 months.
Adding links
The Backlinks tab has three ways to add links.
One link
+ Add backlink asks for the Linking page (source), Your page (target), the anchor text, the date, Type, Status, an optional Cost and Keywords it should help. If you only know the month, tick Only the month is known; impact is then measured from the 1st.
Bulk paste
Bulk paste takes rows copied from a spreadsheet. Without a header row the column order is source, target, anchor, date, keywords, then type, cost and status. Tabs, commas and semicolons all work as separators. Put several keywords in one cell, separated by |.
Import CSV
Import CSV reads a .csv, .tsv or .txt file in UTF-8 or UTF-16, up to 5 MB. Download template gives you a file with the expected columns. Exports from Ahrefs, Semrush, Majestic and similar tools work as they are: their Referring page or Source URL, Target URL, Anchor and First seen columns are used and the rest is ignored.
- Bulk paste and Import CSV both show a Preview with a check per row before anything is saved.
- One paste or file holds at most 5,000 rows.
- Rows whose source → target pair already exists are marked “already added” and skipped, unless you tick the option to import them too.
- Keyword texts that are not tracked in the project are skipped, not treated as errors.
- A row without a date gets the current month.
Fields and statuses
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Source | A full URL on another site. A page on your own site is rejected as an internal link. |
| Target | A page on the project's site, as a URL or a path. |
| Date | A day (YYYY-MM-DD) or a month (YYYY-MM), at most a year ahead. |
| Type | Guest post, PR, Directory, Niche edit or Other |
| Status | Planned, Live or Lost. New links are Live unless you say otherwise. |
| Cost | Optional number in your own currency. |
| Keywords | Up to 100 tracked keywords per link. |
Statuses are yours to keep up to date. Select rows and use Mark live, Mark lost or Delete. The list filters by month, status and type, and searches URLs, anchors and keywords.
Linking keywords
- In the Backlinks tab, tick the links.
- Click Keywords… in the bar that appears.
- Choose to link or unlink, pick the tracked keywords and confirm.
Every selected link is connected to every keyword you pick, and stored results for those links are measured again.
Impact views
- Per link. The Keyword impact column compares the linked keywords in the 28 days before the link went live with 28 days starting 7 days after it, against the whole site's trend. It shows Measuring until the after window is final. The method is the same as for Actions.
- By page. Acquired links grouped by target page, with the number of links, referring domains, and the first and last date. The page's result is measured around its first link; later links fall into the after window.
- By keyword. Pick a tracked keyword to see its position by day with a marker for each backlink, and the list of its links.
- A keyword's backlinks also appear as markers on the charts of its keyword page.
Each tab has an Export button for its tables, as CSV, Excel or Copy for Sheets.
What it does not do
Serplyze does not crawl the web. It does not discover backlinks, check that a link is still live, read its anchor or attributes, or score the linking domain. Every link, date and status is entered by you or imported from a file. Impact is correlation, not proof of cause, and a link without keywords has nothing to measure.
