Keywords

Add keywords from Search Console, a pasted list or a CSV file, understand the keyword limit, and work with the rank tracker table.

A tracked keyword is a search query whose daily clicks, impressions, CTR and average position Serplyze stores for your project. This page covers adding and removing keywords, the limit, and the keywords table of the rank tracker.

Add keywords

Press Add keywords in the rank tracker header. The screen has three tabs. Adding needs edit access to the project.

From Search Console

  • The list starts with the top untracked queries of the last 28 days by impressions, each with its landing page and a suggested group.
  • Type two or more characters to search all Search Console queries. The .* button switches to a regular expression (RE2 syntax).
  • Min. impressions and Search window (28 days, 3 months, 16 months) narrow the search. Results load 1,000 rows at a time.

Paste a list

  • One keyword per line. Commas, semicolons and tabs also separate keywords.
  • A line of keyword, tab, URL (or keyword, comma, URL) also sets the keyword's target URL.
  • The preview counts new, already tracked, duplicate and invalid entries. An entry is invalid when it is only a URL, is longer than 300 characters, or has no letters or digits.

Upload CSV

  • The keyword is read from the first column, or from a column named keyword or query.
  • An optional column named group puts the keyword in a manual group of that name, created when it does not exist. A keyword listed under several groups joins each of them.
  • A file can be up to 10 MB and 200,000 rows. Download a template gives an example.
Limit

There is no dedicated importer for the export formats of other rank trackers. Use a CSV with a keyword column and an optional group column, or paste the list.

Under Add to group choose Use suggested groups (Search Console tab), No group (Ungrouped), an existing manual group or New group…, then press the add button. Quick add in the groups sidebar is the paste flow in a small dialog.

What counts as one keyword

  • One query text in one project. The text is stored the way Search Console reports queries: lower case, single spaces.
  • All devices are included. Mobile and desktop are views of the keyword, not extra keywords.
  • The same query tracked in two projects counts twice.
  • Keywords you stopped tracking do not count.

Keywords with no data

You can track a query your site does not appear for yet. Its numbers show N/A until Search Console first reports the query, and it is requested again on every daily sync. Right after adding, a keyword shows checking… while its history loads. The No data yet tab lists both.

Stop tracking a keyword

  1. Tick the keywords in the table, or open one keyword.
  2. Press Stop tracking and confirm.

A stopped keyword leaves the rank tracker and no longer counts toward your limit. Its stored history is kept. Open its keyword page and press Resume tracking, or add the same query again, and it comes back with that history instead of a duplicate.

The keyword limit

The limit is your plan's keyword volume (100 on Free) and is shared by all projects of the workspace. Reaching it never stops existing tracking: tracked keywords keep syncing every day.

  • When a list is larger than what is left, the screen says how many are over and offers to add only the first ones that fit, or Increase limit, which opens Billing.
  • If a plan change leaves the workspace over its new limit, the keywords with the most clicks over the last 28 days stay tracked and tracking stops for the rest.

The keywords table

The table lists the keywords of the group selected in the sidebar, for the device and date range chosen at the top.

A range is offered as far as your keyword history reaches. compared with sets the comparison: same period last year, previous period, custom period or nothing.

Export
