Delete your data
How to disconnect Search Console, delete a project, leave a workspace or delete your account, and what is removed when.
You can remove your data from Serplyze yourself, in steps: stop Google access, delete a single project, or delete your whole account. This page says where each control is, who can use it and what happens to the data.
Deletion in Serplyze is immediate and permanent. There is no trash, no grace period and no restore. Export what you want to keep first; see Exports.
Overview
| Action | Where | Who | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disconnect a Google account | Settings → Search Console → Google accounts | Owner, admin | Access is revoked at Google and syncing stops. Stored history stays. |
| Delete a project | Settings → Project → Danger zone | Owner, admin | The project and everything in it is deleted at once. |
| Remove a member | Settings → Team | Owner, admin | The person loses access at once. Their work stays. |
| Delete your account | Settings → Profile → Danger zone | You | Your account is deleted, together with every workspace in which you are the only member. |
Disconnect Search Console
- Open Settings → Search Console.
- In the Google accounts card, select Disconnect next to the account.
- Read the dialog, which lists the projects that use the account, and confirm with Disconnect.
- A connection is a Google account, not a project. One account can serve several projects, and all of them stop syncing.
- Serplyze asks Google to revoke its access and wipes the stored token.
- The history that was already imported stays in your projects until you delete them.
- If you later connect an account that has access to the same properties, the projects pick up syncing again.
- You can also remove Serplyze's access on the Google side, in your Google Account under third-party connections. Serplyze then can no longer read anything, and the affected projects show a sync problem.
Delete a project
- Switch to the project and open Settings → Project.
- In the Danger zone, select Delete project.
- If no other project uses the project's Google account, the dialog offers to disconnect that account as well. The box is ticked by default.
- Type the project's domain to confirm and select Delete project.
- Deleted at once: every tracked keyword, group, note and alert of the project, all synced Search Console history, its sync records, its live CSV links and its BigQuery connection.
- Your data in Google Search Console is not affected.
- The project's keywords stop counting towards your keyword allowance.
- The workspace's audit log keeps one entry that says the project was deleted, with its domain and property.
- If you ticked the disconnect option and Google cannot be reached, nothing is deleted. Try again, or untick the option.
Deleting a project does not change your subscription. To pay for fewer keywords, lower the volume in Settings → Plan and billing; see Plans and billing.
Leave a workspace or remove a member
- There is no button to leave a workspace yourself. Ask an owner or admin to remove you in Settings → Team.
- Removing a member takes effect right away. Their notes, reports and keyword changes stay in the workspace, and they can be invited again later.
- An admin cannot remove an owner, and the last owner of a workspace cannot be removed. Make someone else an owner first.
- If you delete your account, you are removed from every shared workspace as part of that.
Delete a workspace
There is no separate control that deletes a workspace. A workspace is deleted when its only member deletes their account. If you want to remove a workspace but keep your account for other workspaces, delete its projects, cancel its subscription and contact support to have the empty workspace removed.
When a workspace is deleted, its Google connections are revoked, its subscription is cancelled immediately, and all of its projects, keywords, history, groups, notes, alerts, reports, invitations, API keys and billing records in Serplyze are deleted, including its audit log.
Delete your account
- Open Settings → Profile and select Delete account in the Danger zone.
- The dialog checks your workspaces and lists what will happen to each one.
- Enter your password and type your email address to confirm. If you sign in with Google only, no password is needed, but you must have signed in within the last day.
- Select Delete my account.
What happens
- You are signed out everywhere. Your profile, sign-in methods, sessions, two-step verification, notification settings and chat history are removed.
- Every workspace in which you are the only member is deleted with all its data, as described above. Its Google connections are revoked and its subscription is cancelled first.
- You are removed from workspaces you share with other people. Those workspaces and their data stay with the other members. Notes and reports you created there remain, without your name.
- If Google or the payment provider cannot be reached, nothing is deleted and you are asked to try again.
You cannot delete your account while you are the only owner of a workspace that has other members. Make someone else an owner in Settings → Team, or remove the other members, then come back.
What happens to a subscription
- Disconnecting Google or deleting a project does not cancel or change a subscription.
- When a workspace is deleted through account deletion, its subscription is cancelled immediately. No further invoices are issued and the unused part of the period is not refunded.
- If you only want to stop paying, cancel in Settings → Plan and billing instead. The workspace then continues on Free with its data; see Plans and billing.
Data that is deleted automatically
- Keyword history after a downgrade. Each plan keeps keyword-level history for a fixed window: 30 days on Free, 3 months on paid plans and 16 months with the history add-on. After a downgrade or cancellation, older days are hidden at once and deleted 14 days later. If you upgrade again within those 14 days, they come back immediately.
- Unfinished project setups. A project draft that was started in onboarding and left without keywords is removed after 24 hours.
- Backups. Deleted data leaves the live database at once and leaves the encrypted backups within 35 days, as the Privacy policy states.
Invoices and billing records are kept by Stripe, and for as long as tax law requires. The Privacy policy lists every retention period.
Ask us to do it
If you cannot sign in, or want a copy of your data before it is deleted, write to the privacy address in the Privacy policy. Requests for access, export, correction or deletion are confirmed within five working days and completed within 30 days.
